Our Classroom

I would like to welcome you into our classroom and explain to you the purpose of its layout.  Our classroom has different areas where different activities take place.  This allows the children to learn through self-discovery and to take responsibility for their own choices.  They also learn how to complete tasks independently and it gives me opportunities to spend one-to-one time with the children throughout the day.

This is how our classroom looks from outside.

 This is our maths corner.

This is our literacy corner.

This is our creative corner.

This is our nature corner.

This is our role-play area.

This is where we keep our table-top toys.

This is an example of our daily routine chart.  I change the pictures everyday according to the day's schedule. This way the children know what is going to happen next all the time.  They know exactly when it is time for our outdoor activity and when it is time to go home; questions they would otherwise ask repeatedly.  This gives them a sense of security because it takes away the fear of the unknown.

These are part of our daily morning routine:  The four seasons, the months of the year, date, days of the week and the weather.

This is where we do 'Circle Time'.

This is the Focal Point which explains, at a glance, what we are learning during a particular topic.
