We made rockets collages, using roller paint for a dark background and made a rocket collage with pre-cut shapes.
I am sure you loved our rockets! What about our interpretations of The Solar System?
The letter of the week was 'r' (rokit). We recognized the 'r' sound in the beginning, middle and at end of words for phonological awareness and learned how to recognize and write the letter r.
We played games to help us sharpen our phonological awareness, word awareness and our visual memory skills. These are all important skills that will later help us to be able to read and write.
During maths we learned about 3D shapes.
During free drawing time, some of the children were inspired by the transport topic. I thought you would enjoy these master pieces too.
This week all kindergarten children had a special activity in the school yard to learn about road safety. They had the opportunity to do role play, pretending to be on a busy road, as drivers of cars and motorbikes and as pedestrians trying to cross the road. It was a fun and interesting way for the children to learn about road safety.
The highlight of the week was our outing to the Sports Club at Luxol. The children were divided into groups and each group had a different instructor who organized different games for them. When we were all ready to leave, the children were still eager to play some more in the play area and as there was a little more time to spare, we obliged and made their day even more special.
