We talked about why we should respect nature. We talked about the spider and how it weaves its sticky web to catch insects. We watched a video of a spider spinning its web. Whoever thinks that children are only interested in watching cartoons is very much mistaken. They love these nature videos! They are always very impressed and in awe of what they are seeing.
We made spider webs too!
Our spider webs display
The letter of this week was n (nannakola). We practised writing the letter. We used finger paint for the letter for a tactile experience which reinforces both the sound and the shape of the letter.
We talked about birds and learned that they like to fly freely and not be locked up in cages. Birds build a nest where they lay their eggs and when the eggs hatch they feed their nestlings until they are old enough to fly too. We watched a video of a bird building a nest just like the one we have on our nature table.
We made our own birds with colourful wings!
These pictures were taken during our Abacus lessons. We also started learning the number 9. (shape, value and recognition..)
